Tips for Fuel Efficient Driving

Whether you’re going on a road trip or simply driving to and from work every day, gas prices are probably on your mind. These tips will help you get from place to place without having to break the bank.

Close Your Windows

Open windows will also increase drag, causing them to use more gas than air conditioning. Though air conditioning also uses up gas, it is the better choice if you need to keep cool.

Check Your Tire Pressure

Make sure that the air pressure in your tires is at manufacturer-recommended levels. Just one underinflated tire can greatly increase fuel consumption.

Go Slow

We know you want to get where you’re going as quickly as possible, but driving slowly will actually help you save on gas. Aerodynamic drag increases the faster you go, and will cause you to burn gas more quickly.

These Ideas Will Add Fun to Your Summer

Want to have some summer fun, but lacking in inspiration? We’ve got you covered! Here are some activities to add excitement to your summer.

Pick berries
Visit a farm and pick your own berries. You could also try picking flowers or vegetables.

Lay in the sand

Whether sandcastles or sunbathing is more your style, anyone can have fun in the sand. Take a day trip to the beach or lake for a relaxing afternoon.

Have a barbecue

Fire up the grill and invite friends, family, and neighbors over for a barbecue. Not a very good cook? Make it a potluck.

Stargaze

Take a moment to appreciate the night sky. Read up on the constellations ahead of time and see if you can find them.

What are your favorite summer activities?

Top Three Tips for Having the Perfect Road Trip

Road trips are a summer staple, but they definitely come with a few bumps in the road. Here are some tips to keep your road trip memorable for the good moments, and to avoid the bad.
1. Get your car serviced

Getting your car checked out is before you leave is the easiest way to ensure a good trip. After all, who wants their car to breakdown halfway through?

2. Take Breaks

Driving for fifteen hours straight will not only tire you out, but it will also slow down your reaction time. Stop to take a coffee break, stretch, take a nap, or see the sights.

3. Bring a Repair Kit

If your car does break down, you want to be prepared. Bring a basic kit with duct tape, a few differently sized screwdrivers, vice grips, and bailing wire. Don’t forget your spare tire!

Most importantly, relax and have fun!
